I'm finding that as I get older, and play MMOs longer, I give less and less of a shit about PVP.

I dunno why. Maybe I just no longer have the patience to deal with the kind of players that typically do PVP in MMOs? maybe it's just an age thing, that is common with MMO players? as you get older, you get less competitive?

I used to be all about PVP. DAoC and Planetside 1 were my two favorite MMOs ever, because of their PVP. WoW I was all about open world pvp and then Battlegrounds. I was never a Raider, hardcore PVE type or anything like that.

nowadays, in my mid-30s, I'm finding that I only give lip service to my interest in PVP. I claim that I'm about it, but when it comes time to actually engage in it, I'm like "meh, whatever" and I just go do PVE stuff instead. Solo, co-op, dungeons, and the like.

I see people complaining about PVP balance, and PVP focus in MMOs and MMO-lites(like The Division), and where I used to get involved in those types of discussions, now I'm just like "fuckin PVP whiners, STFU."

I find that I now really enjoy playing cooperatively with other players, rather than competitively. where my gaming habits were a 50/50 of PVE and PVP, it has swung to more of a 80/20 split in favor of PVE.

Do we die a PVP hero, or live long enough to see ourselves become Carebears?
