I guess The point is to make you look extremely boring and identical to everyone and their grandmothers, so you will reach your wallet for that 30 dollars for that cowboy costume.
Yea gender locking and no race selection along with limited armor looks take away the main things that actually make characters look different.
I mean its cool how much control you have editting a face but even thats limited to a certain look.
I'm more likely to see my Dragoon look different when compared to another in FF14 even though the games char customization is more limited. In BDO my Tamer is going to look awfully like every other Tamer.
