Warhammer Online ingame Tells gets crazy!

We found this on a famous Chinese RMT information portal site. Warhammer Online has officially been released on 18th September. This Chinese website has already started their business of helping other RMT sites to do in-game advertisement. Here is the translation:

News source:

From the 18th, over a hundred thousand players are expecting to sign up for this most awaited game. The figure itself indicates a potentially prosperous RMT market. The problem is how you promote your site and how can you outperform thousands of competitor sites out there?

The official version of Warhammer ingame tells bot (ingame email sending) is already ON sale. It can help you cut down the huge oversea ads expenses and get you in touch with audience of millions directly. In order to ensure the efficiency of the promotion, this opportunity is only accessible to the first ten customers.

1. Manually login the game client
2. Server Auto Select
3. Player Auto Search
4. Auto Whisper
5. Auto Ingame Email
6. Auto Logout and Reselect

Technical Support:
1. Provision of technical supports, including remote software learning instruction
2. Provision of technical maintenance and updating

P.S. The extra charge depends on the new functions of the customer’s requirements

Many site owners bought this software and started to spamming in this game, will the game operator just wink at what they’re doing? Let’s read some news on the other side of the world. Mythic Entertainment GM and VP Mark Jacobs expressed his feelings on gold sellers on his personal blog. The details are as below:

I hate gold sellers/spammers. No, that's not strong enough, let me try again. I HATE GOLD SELLERS WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING. Ah, that's better. Now, why do I hate them you may ask? I hate them for a number of reasons, most of which have been detailed in various interviews I've done over the years. And now that they have taken their obnoxiousness to new levels with gold service spamming, I HATE GOLD SPAMMERS EVEN MORE NOW THAN EVER BEFORE. For years, lowlifes like IGE have told us, in defense of their behavior, that they a) are just providing a service; b) don't interfere with players enjoyment of the game. Well, I can't argue with (a), they are providing a service, just like maggots I suppose but I've always argued that (b) is totally and complete BS. Now, those old arguments aside, I can't see how this new generation of pond scum (new and improved, with 25% more scummy action!) can argue that their constant spamming of chat channels doesn't interfere with players enjoyment of the game (I'm waiting for the whole "Oh, you can always just turn off chat" argument). I hated seeing their messages when I played WoW or any other MMO and I've been waiting for the day that WAR launched so I could have the absolute pleasure of instituting policies to make their lives more difficult so we could drive them out of WAR. Since WAR launched we have been banning these jerks like crazy. As of Saturday Night, we had banned about 400 of them. My CSRs have a zero tolerance policy. We don't wait and let them stay in the game and ban them en-masse, my guys ban their useless, time-consuming butts right away. We have a strike team whose sole job it is to get these guys off our servers as quickly as possible. This weekend, we unveiled a new wrinkle in the fight against them, the public ban message. Players on our Phoenix Throne server have been treated to special messages when a gold seller/spammer is banned. I've given them a wide leash to come up with creative messages to tell the entire community who has been banned and we keep it within the Warhammer universe. A year or two ago, the ingame advertisement is not a very common practice and game companies usually will not start banning from the open beta. As the strength on the RMT sides becomes stronger, the counter act on the game companies’ side becomes even tougher. However, based on my experience no matter how tough it is if there is still a dollar of profit to be made they will keep doing it. It is possible to limit the gold farming practice to some extent however it is impossible to stop the interaction between the gamers. The war between the gold farmer and EA has started and will continue.

2 weeks afterwards....
EA streamlined streamline the gold seller reporting process

Here is the news.
News Sources:

We are committed to making life as hard as we can for Gold Sellers in game and maximizing player enjoyment. To that end we have added a new tool to streamline the gold seller reporting process.
To properly report someone soliciting the sale of in-game gold or services in exchange for real world currency, please use our new category designed specifically to address this violation in the Appeal Interface. The category is entitled GOLD/PL SALES, and is a stand-alone category. You will not find this under the Violation category itself.
Some things to note about how to appeal this violation properly:
Make sure you place the player's exact name in the first window, which asks for the player name.
Place the text the player sent you in the second window, which asks for details about what was sent. Also note if this solicitation came in the form of in-game chat (any channel), or through the mail system.
Please make sure you submit one appeal per solicitor. Do not try to place multiple names into the first box, as the appeal will fail.
This system was specifically designed to further streamline our process in actioning these solicitors. Using any mod that does not use this system will be counter-productive to our cause, and should not be used. Any violation report of this nature that does not use this new system will receive a response asking you to use the system above. Please make sure you only place solicitation reports into the new GOLD/PL SALES category, and not any other violation category such as General, Harassment, etc.
Your cooperation will only ensure that we are able to continue to handle these reports in the most efficient manner possible.
Thank you!
