We’ve learned (via RocketNews) that the MMORPG based on Record of Lodoss War is finally launching next year.
Record of Lodoss War Online, as it’s called, was announced back in 2013 and had an alpha test planned (which was quietly canned). The latest Famitsu has confirmed the game is set for a release early next year.
The news comes via an interview with Shinji Goda and brand manager Hitoshi Kato, who confirmed both developer L&K Logic Korea and publisher GameOn are readying the game for next year. To corroborate with this, the game’s official website was also updated with some new information.
For those Record of Lodoss War enthusiasts out there, the game will take place in the Grey Witch arc of the manga, however it will get content updates post launch.
You won’t be able to play as the main characters (Parn, Deedlit, etc., however they do appear as NPCs) unfortunately, but you can play as knights, priests, and spellcasters (which all appeared in the original franchise).
